  Description:

  We will be bird watching with Sunriver Nature Center Birder Sevilla Rhoads.  Sevilla is a wealth of information, just ask anyone who has gone bird watching with her!  This is a prime time of year for bird watching, with hundreds of thousands of birds, dozens of species, migrating through our area now. Some stay, some continue on. The birds travel during the night, feed in the early morning and rest during the heat of the day. During the spring event, we identified at least 30 different species and over 165 individual birds including the elusive kildeer with babies!

  We could be walking on ground that is a little uneven but walking is not the highlight. Most of the time you will be looking in the air and surrounding trees and shrubbery for birds. Sevilla will identify the birds for you, with interesting facts about each species, and you will be provided with the complete list, with photos, by email after the event. We are waiting to confirm access to a class room for a slideshow pre-view of the birds we are likely to see (and have a cup of coffee before going outside).

  Price:  PLEASE BRING CASH

  The event will cost a total of $100 (reduced rate for SRWC) which we will split between the attendees.  If there are 10 attendees, that would be $10 each; it will be more if there are fewer participants, but worth every cent of this woman's deep knowledge!

  Weather appropriate clothing and shoes. Binoculars optional. Something hot to drink &/or water bottle.

  Hands to Heart Volunteer Opportunity - Road Clean Up

  Let's clean up our section of road before the snow flies.

  We will meet in the parking lot of the Country Store at 3 p.m. Dress for the weather and bring gloves.  Safety vests will be supplied.

  The Adopt-a-Road section assigned to the Sunriver Women's Club is Century Drive from Hwy 97 to Spring River Road.

  We will finish up and honor our good work at a Happy Hour at Century Commons at 5:00. Such a great reward for great work. Spouses, partners and adult kids are welcome to join in.

  Description:  We will bike Afternoon Delight, including some forest roads, to Benham Falls.  Then return to Cardinal Landing Bridge via the Sunriver-Lava single track and SR bike paths.  This is an intermediate level ride- uphill climbing, some rock gardens (I walk them).

  Not'cho Grandma's Bingo - Upper Deschutes Watershed Council

  Event: Bingo supporting the Upper Deschutes Water Council ( SRWC partnered with them this summer for The Deschutes River Clean Up)

  When:  Sunday, October 25, 9:30 am - 12 pm  (arrive between 9:30 and 9:45)

  Where: Silver Moon Brewing, Bend 

  Info: If you have never been to this entertaining bingo event, here's your opportunity!  The nonprofit benefactor for this day is the UDWC.  The SRWC is working with them to organize volunteer opportunities that support the SR and La Pine communities. 

  I have reserved two tables for 6 people each (low chairs, wheelchair accessible).  This reservation can be cancelled before 10/18.  The entry fee cost is $14/person (payable to me).  

  Doors open at 9:30.  Bingo begins approximately 10 am.  Participants must be seated before bingo begins.  

  Very fun brunch beverages are available for purchase.

  Upper Deschutes Watershed Council is hosting Not'cho Grandma's BINGO at Silver Moon Brewing! Cost to play varies by game. Details below.

  THE SKINNY - Every Sunday morning, a nonprofit organization partners with The YOUNI Movement to guarantee the best bingo experience in all of Central Oregon! Not'Cho Grandma's Bingo is the OG of FUNdraising bingo -- an experience -- high energy bingo with meaningful connection in community!

  THE BINGO CARDS - Bingo card bundle costs $30 per person. Each person will get 2 cards per game - 6 games played = 12 cards in total. We call this a Bingo Bundle. You can purchase as many bundles as you want before the bingo games begin! Additional bingo cards are also offered before the start of each round. Most bingo games cost $2 per card. The "blackout" round is the exception, which costs $5 per card (the jackpot round of the morning).

  Max players: 12 including leader. If we do not fill up one or both of the tables, I will cancel the reservation on 10/18. Plus ones welcome.

  Prepare to cast some spells and enjoy the annual Witches’ Paddle this Halloween—Saturday, October 31.  Dust off your broomsticks (or paddleboards/kayaks) and don your most enchanting witchy attire for an afternoon of magical fun on the river. The event kicks off from Riverbend Park between 4-6 PM, so feel free to swoop in whenever you can.

  This event is a fundraiser for MountainStar, one of our grant recipients.  They ask that diapers be donated and there will be a place to drop them off at the launch site at River Bend Park. 

  Since we all have kayaks/SUPS to transport, meet at the launch spot at 4:00 pm.  We can float for an hour or so and then, for those interested, we can join the Loose Cannon spectators/cheerleaders for dinner at 5:30 pm at Anthony's.  I'm thinking that after we load our water vehicles onto our cars, we could walk along the river to the restaurant.

  It’s time for cozy vibes, festive fun, and a little holiday magic! Join us for a Hallmark Christmas Movie Night.

  We’ll start by eating and socializing before pressing play on a classic Hallmark holiday movie. Test your movie trivia (how well do you really know the Hallmark stars?), count how many times they "almost kiss," and enjoy games, drinks, prizes, and great company!

  In this hands-on class, participants will create beautiful, one-of-a-kind mosaic ornaments using laser-cut shapes and sparkling mirrored glass. Choose from a variety of shapes and colorful materials to design an ornament that reflects your own personality and style.

  Come shake off the post-holiday dol-drums and play the card game “Swooping” the nation. The game Swoop is fun, interactive and easy to learn. The evening will start with sharing nibbles, beverages and stories of our holidays. We will then have a quick lesson on Swoop, a practice round, and be off and running with the object to get rid of all your cards. We will have two groups playing and switch around after every few games. Once you’re hooked, you’ll want to teach others and play every day.

  Our own SRWC members traveled to the southern Japanese island of Shikoku and embarked on the 88 Temples Pilgrimage, sharing plenty of laughter, unexpected experiences, and memorable moments along the way. The experience only deepened their enthusiasm for meaningful travel, especially journeys that combine physical challenge, history, culture, and a certain amount of unpredictability. This presentation tells the story about their Shikoku adventure.
