Iron Mountain - Cone Peak


Date:  Wednesday, July 10, 2024

Meeting Time/Place--Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 6:30 am 
Drive Time:  2 hours  We should be back to Sunriver by 5 pm.  

Hike Description:  This hike is known for its abundant wild flowers.  There is a great viewing platform at the top of Iron Mountain, with 360* viewing.  From there we continue over to Cone Peak and meadows of wild flowers. 

Elevation Gain:  1,856 feet
Trail Type:  Loop

Trail Length:  about 7 miles

What to bring:  water, snacks/lunch, hiking poles, sunscreen, hat, bug repellant, layer clothing, wear sturdy hiking boots.  $5 for drivers and extra $ for a snack stop on the way home. I will also have a cooler in my car for anyone who wants to bring a cold drink for after the hike.

The essence of the SRWC is to be a caring partner to our neighbors, nonprofits in south Deschutes County, local businesses and visitors.
