Description:  FALL RIVER LOOP- 1 ½ hour easy loop trail with ½ hour break for snack.

4.4 miles with 147' elevation gain near La Pine, Oregon. The Fall River Trail offers you some beautiful vistas overlooking both the Deschutes and Fall Rivers as it meanders through some of the more remote sections of La Pine State Park. The Fall River is a magical little stream, emerging fully formed from a spring and flowing a mere 12 miles before emptying in the Deschutes. Generally, considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 24 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.

Gear:  Water, snacks, $ for going out to lunch afterwards (optional), hiking poles (optional), sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies.

There is free parking, no pass required at the trailhead parking lot.
