PAULINA CREEK (OUT&BACK)-Try this 5.4-mile out-and-back trail near La Pine, Oregon has 767' elevation gain. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 20 min to complete. The trails along Paulina Creek are within the Newberry National Volcanic Monument in the Deschutes National Forest outside Bend, Oregon.

A mixture of groomed and ungroomed trails offer a variety of options through regal straight lodgepole and ponderosa pine woodland. This trail is a popular trail for cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
