Mid Soles and Hearty Soles Combined Hike - Whychus Creek & Canyon

It's now a Mid Soles and Hearty Soles Combined Hike; join us!

Whychus Creek & Canyon - 4.7 miles, 505 ft of elevation gain/loss. Total hikers including leaders is 12. This hike is considered a moderately challenging route but comes with possible wildflowers. It also comes with a Mtn view before descending into the Canyon. As you hike into the canyon you will most likely feel the temperature become warmer as you pass young Ponderosa trees and manzanita bushes. The trail ducks past a series of cliff overhangs where the creek has undercut ancient lava flows from the volcanoes of the Three Sisters.

Bring lunch, snacks and LOTS of water, bug/tick spray is a must, hat, sunscreen, poles recommended, sunglasses. Watch out for snakes as the weather begins to warm up.

Meet at Holy Trinity Church parking lot at 8:00am. Hike leader is Kathy Rafish (kathyrafish@comcast.net). Co leader TBD.
