Kayak/Paddle on Hosmer Lake
When: Thursday, 7/24/25 9:00am-1:00pm
Meet at 8:00 am at the Village Bar and Grill parking lot. Or meet us at the Hosmer Boat Launch by 9:00am. Please carpool if possible. Bring $3 for the driver if carpooling. This site requires a recreation/day parking permit ($5) or Northwest Forest pass for the main parking lot.
Description:
2 hour paddle with 1/2 hour snack. Easy to Intermediate.
Of all the lakes in the Cascade Lakes area of central Oregon, few are as spectacularly diverse as Hosmer Lake. The lake has three distinct areas, all of which provide incredible views of nearby South Sister, Broken Top and Mount Bachelor. Wildlife sightings might include red-winged black birds, blue heron, Atlantic salmon, and brook trout along the way.
Gear: Required PFD (life preserver), whistle, sunscreen, bug repellant, hat, sunglasses, long sleeve shirt, towel, snacks, drinks, dry sac, Invasive Species Permit if kayak longer than 10 feet.
