Hearty Soles Hike - Black Crater CANCELLED

CANCELED due to Lookout Fire has closed most of the area 

DATE CHANGE for Black Crater hike. This hike has been moved to August 23, leaving Sunriver at 7:30am. If you were originally signed up for this hike on 7/15, your registration has been automatically. moved to the new date, August 23. If August 23 does not work for you, please cancel your registration.  

Black Crater Hike

Moderate to challenging hike that begins in burned forest (Milli Fire, 2017). The reward is spectacular views. 8 miles out and back; 2400 foot elevation gain—a great workout!  Non-permit hike; maximum 12 hikers.

Meet at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 7:30am or Bend Albertson’s at 7:45am.  Black Crater TH is ~ 1 ½ hours from SR. Hiking boots required; poles highly encouraged. Bring lots of water, snacks, and lunch. Opportunity for ice cream (or cheese bread) in Sisters. All-day excursion; plan on 4 1/2 hours on trail. Gas money $6.00. Leader is Julie Cartwright; co-leader Susan Pyle
