Paulina Creek Full Moon Hike

When:  January 11, 2025. Meet at 4:45pm, ready to depart to trailhead by 5pm

Info:  We will meet at the Country Store (in the Village) by 4:45pm to load up and ready to

depart by 5pm for the trailhead. Please bring $3 for the driver. If you want to meet us at the

trailhead, we should be there by 5:20ish. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE NOT

MEETING US AT THE STORE.

Description of event: This is a moderate snowshoe hike up Paulina Creek and back down and will be 3-4 miles roundtrip. (true distance is weather and trail dependent)

What to bring/gear:

Please dress accordingly for the weather that evening. Hopefully there will be good snow and we can actually snowshoe;  otherwise, Yak Trax may be advisable. We recommend poles since it will be dark in places where the trees block the moon.

A backpack for adding/shedding layers.

There will be a bonfire after the snowshoe, so please bring some snacks to share and drink of your choice. Also please bring a chair for sitting (these can be left in the cars while we snowshoe).

Trivia for those who care: January’s full moon is called the “Wolf Moon”. Sunset is 4:49pm.

Moonrise is 2:27pm, Moon sets: 10:31pm.

Co/Leaders:  Janet Rathbone (503) 568-3263 and Brigid Kennaday (541) 643-4251

You will need to agree to the waiver when registering:  waiver-release of liability 0124.pdf
