La Pine State Park and post-hosted luncheon
La Pine State Park trail system is a "multi-use" park. People can hike, bike, or run it and on occasion you will see horses on the trails. The dirt trails are relatively flat with a few accents/descents along the way. They meander in and throughout a tall stand of Ponderosa Pine trees and have many scenic views of the Deschutes River.
The trail system is rated Green (Easy).
This ride is limited to 10 riders.
We will meet at the boat launch parking lot just over the bridge crossing the river on State Park Road. Arrive time is 9:15 and roll out is 9:30 am. There are bathrooms there. We will ride until 11-ish. For those who would like to, we will then caravan over to Kathy Maier's home nearby for a hosted make-your-own-salad bar luncheon and chocolate sweets. When you receive the email confirmation a few days before the ride, I will ask you to confirm lunch.
What to bring: A helmet is required. Snacks, water (electrolyte-enhanced if you choose), tire repair kit, first aid items.
Distance: We will ride a number of loops for a total of about 10 miles.
Route Map. The link shows the entire trail system. I will determine the route we will take and describe it at meet up.
