Kayak/Paddle on Hosmer Lake
When: Thursday, July 18, 2024. 8 am - 1 pm
Meet at 8 am at the Village Bar and Grill parking lot. Please carpool if possible. Bring $3 for driver if carpooling. This site requires a recreation/day parking permit ($5) or Northwest Forest pass for the main parking lot.
2 hour paddle with 1/2 hour snack.
Of all the lakes in the Cascade Lakes area of central Oregon, few are as spectacularly diverse as Hosmer Lake. The lake has three distinct areas, all of which provide incredible views of nearby South Sister, Broken Top and Mount Bachelor. Wildlife sightings might include red-winged black birds, blue heron, Atlantic salmon, and brook trout along the way.Easy to intermediate paddle.
Gear: Required PFD (life preserver), sun screen, bug repellant, hat, sun glasses, long sleeve shirt, towel, snacks, drinks, dry sac, Invasive Species Permit if kayak longer than 10 feet.
