SRWC Programs & Luncheon

November 15, 2022 at Crosswater:  Doors open at 11:30, lunch will be served at noon.

Our guest speaker will be: Cecilia Barrenechea, owner of Hot Lava Bakery since January 2021.  She is a pastry chef and chocolatier from Uruguay.  She enjoys sharing her recipes and desserts with people and the love and happiness of indulging in sweet things. She will be discussing how they ended up living in Sunriver, their love for the area and the similarities with San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina and the Patagonia region of South America, their customs and their desserts and kinds of chocolates they are used to consuming.  It will be a little bit of her history and her passion for pastries and chocolate!

Menu choices are:

  • Fettuccine bolognese with garlic bread and parmesan
  • Caesar salad with Creole blackened chicken breast
  • Chickpea penne pasta with spinach, garlic oil, smoked onions, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh herbs

Dessert:  Gluten free chocolate torte with Bourbon caramel and powdered sugar

Seating: Limited to reservations only.  *Registration starts on October 24th

Cost: $30.   Crosswater has increased its price $4 per meal this year. However, this year, there will not be a transaction fee if you pay online for any of our programs. We encourage all members to pay online in advance to keep the lines at check-in moving. If you choose to pay at the door, payment can be made by cash or check.

Reservations: Use this link, https://sunriverwomensclub.org/event-4991124.  Reservations are due by November 7.

We will also be collecting for Winter Wear at this luncheon.

  • Items most in need are snowpants and boots, although any item is appreciated.
  • Cash is also great.  They purchase Walmart gift cards (no ammo, tobacco or alcohol can be purchased with them) and the FAN advocate shops with the family to make sure they are used as intended.
Items can also be dropped off at Cascade Sothebys' Office open Mon - Sat 10 - 4, or at  First Interstate Bank from Dec 1 - Dec 15.
