  Philanthropy Program Priorities

All community grants must provide services that impact one or more of the following five priorities that the philanthropy program established to focus the impact of our giving.

Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention and Intervention

Every child should grow up in a nurturing environment free from abuse and neglect. Therefore, we support:

  • programs aimed at preventing child abuse and neglect

  • programs that support children who have been abused or neglected

  • programs that support parents and guardians, giving them enhanced capacity to safely care for their children.

Education and Youth Development

Every child and youth should receive the support they need to succeed in school, giving them the knowledge and skills to become productive members of their community.  Therefore, we support:

  • programs that encourage academic growth for children pre-K through high school, especially those children and youth currently not meeting state benchmarks for achievement or those who are at risk of not graduating

  • programs that help youth access the experiences, connections and skill development needed to take part in society and reach their potential.

Hunger Prevention

Everyone should have adequate nutritious food.  Therefore, we support:

  • programs that offer meals and food boxes to persons experiencing food insecurity

  • programs that increase the nutritional value of food provided to persons experiencing food insecurity

Physical and Mental Health

Everyone should have access to quality health services that improve physical and mental health, help them cope with adversity, and build resilience.  Therefore, we support:

  • programs that address health inequalities and improve access to physical or mental health services

  • prevention programs that strengthen physical and mental health and develop positive coping skills to buffer against risks such as mental health problems, substance abuse and suicide

Safe Housing

Everyone should have a safe, healthy and secure home.  Therefore, we support:

  • programs that allow people to stay in their home and prevent homelessness by making their home safer and more habitable

  • programs that provide assistance for utilities such heat, gas/propane, electricity, or water

  • programs that provide safe shelter and placement services for people rebuilding their lives
