Broken Top No Name Lake via Todd Trail

When: August 14, 6:30 a.m. -  4:30 p.m.

Info : Meet at the Village Bar and Grill, plan on leaving at 6:30 so we can begin hiking by 7:00 am. Forest pass required for drivers. 12 participants, including leaders. This hike is subject to obtaining wilderness permits.

Description:

Discover this 13.3-mile out-and-back trail (2700 ft elevation gain); generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 6 h 36 min to complete. The Bend Glacier and No Name Lake route is an exceptionally great hike. This trail features beautiful views of Broken Top and South Sister on the way up and then moves up the ridge on the other side of No Name Lake, which is absolutely stunning. Most of the hike has a gentle increase in elevation until about 2 miles to the summit. There are a few steep inclines, and poles can be a great way to get extra support on the way up. Once you reach No Name Lake, it is definitely worth it to hike the extra half mile or so up to the ridge. There are fantastic views of the Sisters, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Mount Hood and into Washington State.
