Description: This is a relaxed out-and-back ride of about 12 miles on some of the easiest trails in the Phil’s Trail network. We’ll start from Alpine Park and ride the first mile on pavement through Tetherow Resort before entering the forest from Gateway Loop.
Once on dirt, we’ll follow beginner-friendly singletrack for 5 miles:
At that point, we’ll have a snack and then turn around and return the same way.
The full route has approximately 750 feet of elevation gain. There are a few small rock gardens along the way, all of which can be easily walked if preferred.
This ride is designed as an entry-level introduction to Bend’s trail system. It’s a very approachable route for riders getting acquainted with Bend’s terrain, with enough features to offer a true introduction to local singletrack. Riders should bring a mountain-style bike with trail-rated tires.E-bikes are allowed.
Before you arrive for the ride, please read the guidelines for group rides here. If you need a visual reminder on commonly used bike signals, it’s available here.
