It is a 45-minute drive to the trailhead, east of Bend. No pass is required.
Description:
This is the third in a series of wildflower hikes in our new Chasing the Blooms Challenge. The focus is to identify as many wildflower species as possible.
This is a popular early-season hike of 3.1 miles, 120 feet of elevation gain. Northwest Wildflowers notes peak wildflower bloom is typically in May. Potential species are listed on iNaturalist. We have a tour of the native landscape at the Worthy Garden Club booked for our group.
Gear:
Light hiking shoes, sunscreen, hats, a snack, $4 for the driver, $3 donation for the tour and money for an after-hike lunch out at Worthy Brewing.
