Winter Fun - POSTPONED Sunrise Snowshoe or Hike

POSTPONED due to winter storm warning  

Join us for a SRWC Winter Fun outing on Tuesday, February 14th. Kathy Rafish will be leading a sunrise hike/snowshoe trip at the Virginia Meissner Sno-Park for about 3.25 miles, roughly 2 hours. This is a moderately difficult trail with some ups and downs. To reward us all for getting up and moving so early, we will be providing  breakfast & beverages at the shelter (approximately 1.75 miles in) as we watch the beautiful sunrise.  Please respond to Kathy Rafish kathyrafish@comcast.net  if you would like to join this fun outing.

Sunrise is at 7:06 am on February 14th.   We’ll need to start our hike at approximately 6:15 am to arrive at the shelter for sunrise; we anticipate it will take approximately 45 minutes to reach the shelter.

We’re happy to arrange carpooling for those interested or you can meet us at Virginia Meisner about 6:00 am so we have time to get ready to head out. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to Virginia Meisner Sno-Park from the Sunriver area. A Sno-Park Permit is required.

Once we have you on the list to attend, we will be following up with another email and a few more details and recommendations on footwear (boots, yaktrax or snowshoes) based on the current conditions.
