DORIS LAKE TO BLOW LAKE

When: Saturday, July 12 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Meet at 9:00 a.m. at SCF Church parking lot at 18139 Cottonwood Rd to carpool, or meet at the  Trailhead parking lot  at 10 a.m.  Bring $5 for driver if carpooling.
Description:
A 4.8 miles in and out, 416 ft elevation gain.  The elevation at the trailhead is 5,310 feet and you pass through subalpine forest on your way to the lakes. Blow Lake is 45 acres in size. Windfall trees form a frame along one edge of the lake and can be seen resting on the bottom of this clear lake. Doris Lake, a mile and a half away, is slightly larger at 69 acres in size. Best hiked June thru September.
When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.

Gear: Water, snacks, $ for going out to lunch afterwards (optional), hiking poles (optional), sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies, insect repellent.
May require a parking permit that can be purchased at the parking lot.
