Kayak/Paddle on Sparks Lake

When:  Monday, August 19, 2024.  8 am - 1 pm

Meet at 8 am at the Village Bar and Grill parking lot.  Please carpool if possible.  Bring $3 for driver if carpooling.  This site requires a recreation/day parking permit ($5) or Northwest Forest pass for the main parking lot.

2 hour paddle with 1/2 hour snack.

A bumpy 5 minute drive down the well-labeled access road on the left hand side of the highway will lead you to the often busy boat launch, which immediately opens up to a vast panorama, offering mighty and humbling views of Broken Top, the Three Sisters, and the black-diamond-laced northwest bowls of Mount Bachelor. Crowds disperse quickly in all directions as you paddle out into the crystal clear shallow waters. Easy to intermediate Paddle.

Gear: Required PFD (life preserver), sun screen, bug repellant, hat, sun glasses, long sleeve shirt, towel, snacks, drinks, dry sac, Invasive Species Permit if kayak longer than 10 feet.
