Hearty Soles Four-In-One Cone Hike

Four-In-One Cone is a most spectacular hike that threads its way through forest and lava fields to end up in a plateau dominated by North Sister one direction and four lava cones in the other. The landscape is a geologist's heaven and you see mountains every which way from a saddle atop one of the cones. The hike is 11 miles but much of that is along soft forest floor. Elevation gain is 1,500 feet. We want a minimum of three hikers, besides the two leaders, to make the trip over McKenzie Pass worth it. Wear sturdy boots and bring hiking poles and lunch.
