From Sunriver – Spring River Road then NE on FS Road 41: first 8 miles of Rd 41 are gravel, about 2 miles are washboard but otherwise not bad. Turn right (east) on Forest Road 4120 for 0.8 miles.

Note: The access road to the day-use area has stretches of holes, towards the end of the access road, the signs or Google directions say to veer left but stay straight to get to the parking area where we start.

Description of event: Easy paced mountain bike ride starting at Lava Island Falls Day Use Area.

This ride is for those who are comfortable riding on singletrack. Not suitable for TRUE beginners. We will be riding on single and double track and old forest service roads to Slough day use, stop for a snack and pictures and head back. The ride is a 9.4 mile lollipop with 350 ft of elevation gain. There are a few hills, but nothing technical. Beautiful views of the Deschutes River!
