Snowshoe with a Ranger

When:  Thursday, February 12, 2026, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Meet at 12:00 p.m. (time may change based on weather and road conditions) at the Village Bar & Grill parking lot for carpool.  Bring $2 for driver, if carpooling.  We will be meeting at the Mt. Bachelor West Village Parking Lot. 

Description: Learn about the geology, biology, and hydrology of Deschutes National Forest while snowshoeing along the Egan Cone during an interpretive snowshoe hike with a Forest Service ranger. Tour will start at 1:00 p.m. and will last 90 minutes. Snowshoes are provided free of charge. No prior experience is needed. (or you can bring your own snowshoes).

Parking:
Address: Mt. Bachelor West Village Lodge, Bend, OR
Please Park in the general free parking lot.
Meeting Location:
We will meet at the USFS hut in the West Village center at 12:45 p.m.

What to Bring - 
Clothing:
 Please come prepared in winter weather clothing. Dress in layers of synthetic or wool clothing; a waterproof outer layer (jacket, pants, boots) is required for the ever-changing mountain weather.
Snowshoes:
 Snowshoes are provided for all walks. Check out this instructional video to learn how to wear snowshoes! Or you can bring your own snowshoes.
Personal Needs:
 Please bring water and a light snack if deemed necessary. Restrooms can be found by the electric car charging station in the West Village parking lot.
