Join the Loose Cannons for a hike and picnic lunch at Fort Rock State Natural Area.  Fort Rock is a beautiful, remote volcanic structure left after a volcano erupted in an ancient lake during the last ice age. There are hiking trails that lead into the center of the ring of volcanic cliffs and lots of nesting birds. It is normally warm, dry and windy, so dress accordingly.

Time:  9:30-1:00 pm

Where:    Fort Rock State Natural Area, 20 miles SE of Sunriver  

Carpool:   Sunriver Village parking lot
               next to the First Interstate Bank at 9:30 am 

                       57100 Beaver Dr, Sunriver, Oregon 97707

What to bring/Special instructions:  

Wear hiking shoes for a short hike, bring sunscreen, a hat, water bottles and a sack lunch for a picnic lunch after the hike  Restrooms available on site
