Hearty Soles Hike - Butte to Butte Hike with an Upside

Hike a mellow trail from the base of Bessie Butte to the base of Horse Butte, with the option of hiking to the top of Horse Butte.  The out-and-back trail is about  7 miles round-trip with less than 300 feet elevation gain.  The  ascent to the top is a half-mile at most, definitely worth the gorgeous views.  

The  trail is  a woodsy route that gives you a good look at a couple of the main geographic features on Bend's east side.  The mixed-use trail is easy on the feet.

Meet at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 25. You can choose to carpool or drive separately.  The trailhead is off China Hat Road, and Google directions will get you there.  Bring a snack or lunch.
