Kayak/Paddle From Harper’s Bridge to Sunriver Canoe Takeout

When: Thursday, June 18, 2026, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

with optional lunch/beverage at Rio Sol afterwards

Info : Meet at Harper’s Bridge, ready to enter the water at 10:00 AM. We

need one or two volunteers to help secure shuttle passes from the Marina at

9 AM and help us juggle cars for transport at the end of the float. We will

float from Harper’s Bridge to the Sunriver Canoe Takeout (approximately

2.5-3 hours), then take the shuttle back to the marina, where one person

will guard all the kayaks/paddleboards, while 2 of us take the rest of the

group back to pick up everyone’s cars and return to the marina. Once all

the kayaks/SUPS are loaded on everyone’s cars, you have the option to have

lunch/beverages next door at Rio Sol, or head home.

Description: 2.5-3 hour float on the Deschutes River in Sunriver. Join us for

a relaxed float/paddle on the Deschutes River, from Harper’s Bridge to the

Sunriver Canoe Takeout, past Mary McCallum Park, the Sunriver Marina,

Cardinal Landing Bridge, and scenic views of Sunriver’s riverfront properties

and the surrounding natural landscape. Absent winds, this is a very easy

float. Easy to intermediate with winds. The Sunriver Marina Shuttle will

transport us and our kayaks/SUPS back to the homeowner’s lot, where we

will unload, shuttle drivers back to their cars and return to the marina to get

our gear. From there, you have the option to join us for lunch/drinks at Rio

Sol, or head home.

Gear: Required PFD (life preserver), whistle, and Invasive Species Permit.

Suggested: sunscreen, bug repellant, hat, water, snacks/lunch, $ for

food/drinks afterwards, long sleeve shirt, dry bag, towel, water shoes,

change of clothes if desired.

Number of participants:  12
