New Date - Hearty Soles Hike - Hager Mountain & Lookout

New Date - June 21 as too much snow still up there

HAGER MOUNTAIN & LOOKOUT - 4.5 mile hike elevation gain/loss 1,600 ft located in the Silver Lake area SE of Sunriver. MEET at Sunriver Library @ 8:00am to form carpools on this non permitted hike and high clearance vehicles recommended. Hager Mtn. hike features fields of wildflowers & stunning views of the Southern Cascades to the West and High Desert to the East.

There is a picnic table and pit toilet at the top but none at the trailhead. Sometimes the Lookout is occupied. While the distance is relatively short, it is steep and can be challenging for some. Bring lunch, plenty of water, bug & tick spray and hiking poles recommended.

If time allows & there is interest the group can stop at Wetlands Taphouse in Lapine on the way home. Bring $5 for gas for drivers. Hike is limited to 10 hikers including leaders. Hike Leaders are Kathy Ketchum and Liz LeCuyer.
