Explore this (9) 13.0-mile out-and-back trail near Terrebonne, Oregon. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 6 h 55 min to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and running, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are March through November.
We will be leaving the church at 7:45 am and be returning by 3pm depending on stops for refreshments afterwards and bathroom breaks. Drivers need to buy a $5 parking pass. Please bring $4-6 to cover gas and pass. This is very exposed terrain.
When considering this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel rock, soft sand etc ) to determine if this event matches your fitness level.
Be prepared to be in the sun all day, so hats, fluid replacements, snacks, and lunch. First peak, but lots of elevation, please be in good health and shape. Also, as always, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, water, snacks, lunch, $ for carpooling or food event afterwards, hiking poles, sturdy hiking shoes, dry bag, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies.
