SALT CREEK AND DIAMOND CREEK FALLS TRAIL LOOP
When: Monday August 3, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Village Bar and Grill parking lot to carpool or meet at
9:15 a.m. at the trailhead. Bring $5 for the driver if carpooling.
Description:
SALT CREEK AND DIAMOND CREEK FALLS TRAIL LOOP- near
Oakridge, Oregon. The Salt Creek Falls and Diamond Creek Falls Loop is a
short 5.6 mile hike with 1,059' elevation gain, but spectacular trail that offers
views of some of the most amazing waterfalls in the area. Salt Creek Falls is
Oregon's second tallest waterfall (286 ft.) and quite a sight to see! What's great
about this hike, is that you can choose to hike a 3.75 mile loop or you can add
2.6 miles to the hike (making it a 6.4 mile hike) by taking an out and back trail
to see Fall Creek Falls. Generally considered a moderately challenging route.
This hike takes an average of 2 hr 39 min to complete. Note: This hike is also
scheduled for Wednesday, September 9. Best hiked June thru Oct.
When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.
Gear: Water, snacks, $ for going out to lunch afterwards (optional), hiking poles
(optional), sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies, insect
repellent.
