WHO WE ARE

We are a community of active engaged individuals who enjoy each other, have a lot of fun, experience new activities and are committed to improving our local community through philanthropy. Our members come from all over—many from the Pacific Northwest and others from across the United States and overseas. Many are employed full or part-time while others are retired and sampling all that Central Oregon has to offer.

All of us were new members at one time. We joined to meet people, make new friends and to become more deeply rooted in our community. We stay involved because of the benefits we receive by being part of such a dynamic group and the good feelings that result from our philanthropic impact.

The Sunriver Women’s Club was started in 1972 by a small group of local women who wanted to “strengthen the community through increasing social activities and benefits to residents and supporting nonprofits in south Deschutes County through a philanthropy program. It has grown in membership, stature and recognition since then by taking on new challenges and “stepping up” to meet them. The essence of the SRWC is to be a caring partner to our neighbors, nonprofits in south Deschutes County, local businesses and visitors. Since 1999, SRWC has awarded over $1,000,000 in community grants.

“I am immensely proud of our club and the work that we do on behalf of our community –especially in these difficult times!”  Mechelle Griffin, member since 2019.

“I hope it keeps going as long as Sunriver exists!  The SRWC just keeps finding new ways to help people.  It’s become an outstanding group of diverse individuals with different backgrounds and life experiences.  It’s wonderful!”  Ann Bayless, past president, 2000-2001, member since 1998.

The Sunriver Women's Club (SRWC) is a  501C (3) nonprofit community service organization that welcomes members from Sunriver and the surrounding communities.
