SRWC February 2020 Newsletter

Presidents Message

Happy February! Another busy month for the SRWC. Lunch with Friends starts off the month on February 5 at 11:30 am in the Crescent Room at the SHARC. Bring your lunch and join us to meet new people or catch up with long-time friends! Winter Fun had their first event of the year with a cross-country ski to Benham Falls. Fun time for 10 members.

Our monthly luncheon will be February 18th at Marcello’s. I want to thank our members for their patience as we use a couple of different venues for our monthly luncheons while Crosswater continues their remodel.

We have changed the date for the Sunriver Art Auction and Wine Event to May 17. We now have three major fundraisers that are spread across the year…Art Auction & Wine in May; Art Fair in August and Winter Gala in December. If you are new to the SRWC and would love to get involved in any of these events, you can contact me directly or on our website there is a listing of SRWC emails where you can contact the event chair personally.

Winter Wear is continuing to collect donations. There is a major need for waterproof gloves, snow pants and snow boots. You can drop off your donations at Cascade Sotheby’s in the Village, First Interstate Bank or bring them to our monthly luncheons.

Are you using the new website? Laura Dickinson, webmaster extraordinaire, is always adding new information to the website. If you are having trouble logging in or just need help, please email Laura Dickinson at sunriverwomensclub@gmail.com. We will also be having informational sessions soon.

As always, keep reading for further details on all our events and fundraising opportunities. Thank you for “Steppin’ Up for Friends, Fun and Philanthropy”!!!

--Nancy Fischer

    Power of 100

Mark your calendar for the Power of 100 Kick-off and Celebration of the next project on Sunday, March 8th. You can help decide where the SRWC will positively and purposefully impact the local community through the Power of 100 program’s 2020 Signature Project! A vote of SRWC members will determine which nonprofit’s project will receive the generosity of 100 people donating $100 resulting in a $10,000 award to their project next fall.

Be proactive. The Philanthropy Committee is currently vetting proposals and will select the most impactful projects for the SRWC membership to vote on. In early February, you will receive an e-mail blast announcing the potential projects.  You will be able to vote in one of two ways - on the website once the voting opens or during the February 18th monthly luncheon. The winner will be announced at the kick-off.  Details to follow.

Contact Cheryl Storm or Kris Besson at power100@gmail.com for more information or help in voting.
