About the SRWC Philanthropy Programs
The Sunriver Women’s Club views its philanthropy program as an investment toward the betterment of our community. We strive to have a grant program that develops a strong network of services in south Deschutes County that will improve the lives of our neighbors and have lasting impact in the community.
Since 1999, the SRWC philanthropy program has awarded more than $700,000 to organizations serving south Deschutes County. The SRWC grants support nonprofit agencies or organizations whose work primarily provides basic necessities in south Deschutes County to women, children, families and seniors. Basic necessities consist of food, shelter, health, clothing, education, child development and care. These grant awards are made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Sunriver Women’s Club and the generous support of the Sunriver community and surrounding areas.

In the midst of this pandemic, staff and volunteers at our local non-profits are working tirelessly to meet the increased demand for their services. The Sunriver Women’s Club has a more than 20-year history of supporting our non-profits through our philanthropy program. We know that nonprofits typically don’t have the cash, credit lines or reserves that guarantee their survival in crisis situations. Therefore our local non-profits may need additional support if they are to meet the demand without jeopardizing their future stability. With this in mind, the SRWC initiated the COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Non-Profits. Just 48 hours after the appeal went out to members, the SRWC had raised the first $5,000 for the fund. Thanks to the generosity of the SRWC and our community, additional donations continued coming in.
