About the SRWC Philanthropy Programs

Philanthropy – the practice of giving money and/or time to help make life better for other people.

Merriam Webster Dictionary

The SRWC philanthropy program awards grants to local nonprofit agencies with the goal of providing a strong network of services that will improve the lives of the most vulnerable citizens in our south Deschutes County community. Since 1999, the SRWC philanthropy program has awarded over $771,000 to programs providing services to women, children, families and seniors in our south Deschutes County community.

The Sunriver Women’s Club is proud of its philanthropy program and grateful for all of our members who contribute time and/or money to ensure its success. The SRWC Power of 100+ Program
The Sunriver Women’s Club Power of 100 program was initiated in September 2018 as a way for club members and members of the community to make a larger contribution to a specific need in the community.  In its first year, the SRWC’s Power of 100 Program funded two projects at $10,000 each.  We are currently in the fact-finding and assessment stage with schools and other partners to gather information about a new signature project focused on educational needs of local students.

The COVID-19 Nonprofit Fund
On March 29, 2020, the SRWC set up the COVID-19 Nonprofit Emergency Fund, soliciting donations to support nonprofits struggling to continue to provide much needed services to those impacted by the virus, isolation, job loss, etc. during this difficult time. Over the course of the pandemic the SRWC raised $45,833 to support our nonprofit partners.  Fundraising concluded on May 31, 2021 and all remaining funds were distributed.
