February President's Message

Happy Valentine’s Day! The new date for “Celebrate 50” is Thursday, June 2. It was a frustrating decision to make, but it was the right decision to reschedule “Celebrate 50”. We need to keep our members and their guests safe during this pandemic. Tickets are on sale for the June 2 event, but space is limited, so purchase your tickets now. The Celebrate 50 committee is working hard to make this a fun event for all, both singles and couples. Plan to join us to celebrate 50 years of the SRWC.

Due to traveling, I was home isolating so I missed the January luncheon. I think this was one of a small number of luncheons I have missed over the last 10 years. Thank you to Laurel Brennan for making the announcements. Thank you to Laura Sherar for putting together a fun slideshow with lots of photos of current and past members participating in all the fun things that SRWC members do. Did you see yourself in the slideshow?

The SRWC COVID-19 policy will continue to be enforced for all indoor SRWC-sponsored events, including carpooling for any activities, until the Board feels comfortable to rescind it. Masks are required to be worn indoors until you are seated for a meal or drinks. I want to thank everyone for their cooperation as we look forward to the end of this pandemic. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at

It takes a village to keep the SRWC up and running with our fundraising events, board of directors, board assistants, and other volunteer positions. Are you interested? This is a great way to meet members and make friends. We have some key positions within the SRWC that need to be filled:  Art Fair Publicity and Marketing, Board and Board Assistant positions and other positions. If you would like to volunteer for any of these positions, please contact Nancy Fischer and she will have further information for you.

As always, keep reading for further details on all our events and fundraising opportunities.

Thank you for “50 Years of Steppin’ Up for Friends, Fun and Philanthropy”!!!
